The Chores at Halley Farms

During the winter months we cut hedge posts and use them to replace old fence. We like to fence in the late spring right after crop season and just before we start haying.

Before the alfalfa starts blooming which is normally in June we get all the hay equipment out and perform our yearly maintaince. Once it's in the prime stage we begin cutting it and do the rest of the fields right after and usually finish around Mid-August.

Crop season can be benefical to our farm because of the high corn and bean prices. It can also be stressful due to the thought of drought we have been experiencing the last couple years. We normally start planting in April and finish in May and then harvest the crops around October.
