1. The Origin of HTML is a markup language in the World Wide Web. The markup language can have paragraphs, headings, and lists. HTML allows platform-independent display of information across a network. Elements and tags are referred to as markup code. All tags have a purpose. Tags can be changed with attributed that describe their purpose. 2. You donít need software to create a webpage you just need the Notepad text editor in Microsoft Windows. You can test your webpage in Internet explorer, Apple safari, or Google Chrome. 3. The head is important because e the tags begin with < head > and end with < / head >. Basically the title of a webpage. The body is important because itís what the webpage contains.

Checkpoint 2.2

1. The heading element is for displaying headings and subheadings. The size level is from 1 to 6. < h1 > is large and < h6 > is small. 2. The ordered lists and unordered lists can be used to organize information on webpages. Ordered is listed by numbers. Unordered are bullet points. 3. Blockquote is for formatting longer quotations using indenting the text is indented from left and right margins.

1. Special characters are used for items like quotations marks, greater than>, less than <, and the copyright symbol. These are entity characters used by the browser when the page is rendered. 2. Absolute link displays a webpage document from a website not your own. http protocol is used in the href value. 3. The http is not used to display a relative link from your own website.

The tutorial is geared towards beginner level. I would recommend this site to others, because it gives you the basics on HTML and explains what HTML is. I learned HTML editors which basically is how you start a new NotePad++.
